Peel Police Make the Largest Seizure of Cocaine in the History of Police Service
Nearly $50 million worth of cocaine being smuggled from the US into the GTA has been seized by Peel Police – the largest seizure in the history of police service.
Police announced Tuesday that they started the operation in June 2024.
The suspects were using commercial vehicles coming from the US to Canada to transport the cocaine illegally.
Chief Nishan Duraiappah of the Peel Regional Police stated in a press conference that, despite organized crime continuing, the police remain committed to protecting their communities.
