Israel kills nearly 100 Palestinians in 24 hours as aid access collapses
Israeli airstrikes devastate shelters, schools, and hospitals across Gaza, killing at least 95 Palestinians and injuring over 440
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) — At least 95 Palestinians have been killed and 440 injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past 24 hours, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.
An Israeli airstrike on a school in Khan Younis, which was sheltering displaced families, killed at least 12 people, including children.
In central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah, Israeli shelling of a tent housing displaced Palestinians resulted in additional casualties.
Further strikes in the southern city of Khan Younis and western Gaza City have also been reported, causing multiple fatalities and injuries.
Medical facilities have not been spared.
The roof of an administrative building at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah was struck, causing panic among patients and staff.
The Health Ministry condemned the attack, highlighting a “systematic policy of undermining” Gaza’s health system.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has halted aid distribution amid security concerns, exacerbating the crisis.
GHF is a U.S. and Israeli-backed nonprofit established in early 2025 to deliver aid directly to Gaza civilians, bypassing traditional UN channels; however, it has faced significant criticism over its militarized distribution methods, lack of transparency, and alleged role in exacerbating civilian harm amid ongoing genocide.
Israel has banned Palestinians in Gaza from approaching aid distribution centers, citing “renovation and reorganization,” according to an army spokesman.
GHF confirmed all centers would remain shut for time being.
Roads leading to the sites are now considered conflict zones and off-limits.
The announcement follows a deadly Israeli strike on Tuesday at Rafah’s Al-Alam roundabout, where people were waiting for aid. Twenty-seven were killed.
Gaza’s Government Media Office says Israeli attacks on aid zones have killed 102 and injured 490 since May 27.
Humanitarian agencies warn of looming famine as over 2 million residents face starvation.
The UN has warned that 14,000 infants are at risk of starvation due to the blockade and lack of aid.
The U.K. government has called for an “immediate and independent investigation” into the deaths of Palestinians at aid distribution sites, labeling Israel’s new aid delivery measures as “inhumane.”
Additionally, 12 countries and the European Union have expressed strong solidarity with Palestinian communities affected by settler violence in the occupied West Bank, urging Israel to respect its obligations under international law.
The cumulative toll of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza stands at over 54,600 Palestinians killed and more than 125,000 wounded.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
