Lebanon death toll tops 200 as Israel expands strikes; Hezbollah fires back

BEIRUT (MNTV) — Israeli jets have bombed towns across southern and eastern Lebanon, with Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health reporting 217 deaths since the strikes began.
Hezbollah entered the conflict on March 2, firing rockets at multiple locations in northern Israel and engaging Israeli troops in the Bekaa Valley.
Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has called on international allies to intervene and halt the attacks. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed support in a call with Aoun, while France, the U.K. and Spain have all pledged varying degrees of military assistance to protect their allies’ interests in the region.
Growing numbers of civilians have fled areas including Tyre and Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh.
Schools across the capital are now being used as emergency shelters.
The United Nations estimates that at least 330,000 people have been forcibly displaced across the Middle East since the conflict began one week ago.
