ASTANA, Kazakhstan (MNTV) — Kazakhstan has successfully conducted its first robot-assisted heart surgery, marking a milestone for both the country and Central Asia, officials said.
The procedure took place on Nov. 13 at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MCUDP) in Astana. Cardiac surgeons from MCUDP performed the operation alongside specialists from China as part of an international scientific-practical conference, the hospital’s press service reported.
The minimally invasive procedure utilized an advanced robotic surgical system, and the patient remains in stable condition.
The conference covered cardiology, oncology, nuclear medicine, neurosurgery, internal medicine, digital healthcare, and pharmaceutical regulation, featuring joint consultations with experts from Russia and Japan.
Organizers said the event served as a major platform for sharing expertise and promoting cutting-edge medical and educational technologies.
Approximately 4,000 participants attended online and in person, with live-streamed sessions garnering more than 4,000 views.
