Jordan climbs six spots in global digital ranking
Kingdom’s progress reflects strong leadership and national strategy to advance digital transformation and innovation
AMMAN, Jordan (MNTV) — Jordan has advanced six places to rank 44th globally and seventh among Arab nations in the 2025 IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, marking a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey, according to the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj).
Fadi Qutaishat, chairperson of Intaj, said the achievement reflects the leadership of King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in positioning Jordan as a regional hub for innovation and technology.
He noted that the progress aligns with the goals of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), a national framework designed to boost competitiveness and drive growth through digital transformation. Qutaishat also credited the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship for implementing key initiatives supporting this vision.
Highlighting the contribution of the National Council for Future Technology and the National Cybersecurity Center, Qutaishat said their coordinated efforts are accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies and strengthening cybersecurity across sectors.
The improved ranking, he added, also reflects advances in education, research, digital skills, and infrastructure—outcomes of strong collaboration between the public and private sectors in building a resilient digital economy.
Intaj continues to play a strategic role by supporting Jordanian tech firms, promoting innovation, and providing reliable data to guide policymaking and business strategies in the information and communications technology sector.
To sustain momentum, Qutaishat called for ongoing investment in innovation, digital education, and infrastructure to empower youth and reinforce Jordan’s vision for a knowledge-based, sustainable digital future.
