Israeli attacks strike southern Lebanese towns despite ceasefire
Israeli forces reportedly opened fire, launched airstrikes and demolished buildings across southern Lebanon, intensifying concerns over civilian targets
BEIRUT, Lebanon (MNTV) — Israeli forces continued attacks across southern Lebanon on Monday, including machine-gun fire, an airstrike and large-scale building demolitions, according to reports from Lebanese media cited by Yemen’s Saba news agency.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Israeli forces fired toward Wadi Beit Lif and areas near Sarbine. Overnight, illumination flares were deployed over Zoutar al-Sharqiya in Nabatieh district, accompanied by machine-gun fire directed toward the town.
Israeli warplanes reportedly struck Kafr Tebnit, while Israeli forces carried out a large-scale demolition operation in Beit Yahoun.
Artillery fire was also reported around Baraachit in the Bint Jbeil district and in the Al-Mansouri area of the Tyre district.
Additional machine-gun fire reportedly targeted the outskirts of Buyut al-Sayyad and Al-Mansouri from Israeli positions in the Al-Bayada hills.
The reported operations underscore the continuing threat facing communities in southern Lebanon despite ceasefire arrangements.
Airstrikes, artillery fire and the destruction of buildings can place civilians at risk, damage essential infrastructure and undermine efforts to restore normal life in affected areas.
Saba also reported a wider escalation of Israeli attacks since March 2, saying strikes had affected towns, villages, cities and civilian infrastructure.
The agency put the resulting displacement at approximately 1.5 million people, alongside thousands of deaths and injuries.
The latest incidents highlight the fragility of the situation and the continuing humanitarian consequences of Israeli military operations. Sustained protection for civilians and respect for ceasefire commitments remain critical to preventing further destruction and displacement.
