Israeli airstrike damages Doctors Without Borders bus in Gaza, injuring staff member
Clearly marked vehicle carrying 10 humanitarian workers damaged as strike hits target just 2 meters away
GAZA CITY, Palestine (MNTV) – An Israeli airstrike damaged a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) bus in Gaza City and injured one staff member, the medical charity said Monday.
Doctors Without Borders said the bus was carrying 10 humanitarian workers when an Israeli strike hit a targeted vehicle just two meters (6.5 feet) away on Sept. 13.
The group said the bus was clearly identifiable, with a large MSF logo visible on its roof.
“Once again, Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel,” MSF said.
The organization said nowhere in Gaza was safe and called for civilians, health care workers and humanitarian staff to be protected.
It also urged that clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles be spared from attacks.
Israeli violations of a ceasefire agreement had killed 1,372 Palestinians and injured 4,659 others as of Monday, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Since Oct. 8, 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000 others in its genocide in Gaza while destroying around 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
