TEHRAN (MNTV) — Iranian health officials said Sunday that children represent roughly 30% of those killed during the past week of U.S.-Israeli attacks on the country.
In a statement, Iran’s Health Ministry said 190 of the victims were under the age of 18. The toll also includes 198 women. Among the children killed, six were younger than five.
Authorities said the youngest victim identified so far is an eight-month-old baby girl. The oldest person killed was an 88-year-old man.
The ministry also released figures on those injured. It said 1,044 women and 584 minors were among the wounded, including 54 children under the age of five.
Iranian officials say the overall death toll from the strikes has surpassed 1,200 since Feb. 28, with more than 10,000 people reported injured.
According to Iranian authorities, those killed include senior figures such as Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as well as several high-ranking military commanders.
Tehran has responded by launching drones and missiles toward Israel and Gulf countries that host U.S. military installations.
