France’s far-right leader Marine Le Pen leads 2027 presidential election poll
National Rally figure maintains 35% to 37% support despite controversy surrounding party leader Jordan Bardella
PARIS (MNTV) – Marine Le Pen, a leading figure in France’s far-right National Rally party, continues to lead opinion polls ahead of the 2027 presidential election, despite allegations involving party leader Jordan Bardella.
A Toluna Harris Interactive poll published Monday by French broadcaster RTL shows Le Pen securing between 35% and 37% of the vote in the first round, scheduled for April 18, depending on the candidates running.
Her support remains unchanged despite controversy surrounding Bardella, who has denied allegations about antisemitic writings attributed to him in 2013. French investigative outlet Mediapart reported the allegations about two weeks before the poll’s publication.
The survey also found that Le Pen received more favorable assessments than Bardella on several leadership measures.
About 51% of respondents said Le Pen would make a good president, an increase of six percentage points from the previous survey, compared with 47% for Bardella.
Similarly, 54% believed Le Pen could keep her promises, up six points, compared with 50% for Bardella.
On ambition, Le Pen received a 73% rating, up three points, while Bardella scored 69%.
French President Emmanuel Macron is constitutionally barred from seeking a third consecutive term.
The presidential election’s first round is scheduled for April 18, 2027, with a runoff on May 2 if no candidate secures an outright majority.
