Agreement aims to boost investment, logistics and joint development projects across key economic sectors
OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso (MNTV) — Egypt and Burkina Faso have signed agreement to strengthen trade, investment and development cooperation, following talks between public and private sector representatives from both countries.
The agreement was signed on January 17 in Ouagadougou between MAG Trade & Investment, an Egyptian firm specializing in trade, investment and logistics, and Burkina Faso’s National Office for Major Projects.
The MoU concluded a week-long business visit by an Egyptian delegation seeking to establish an economic partnership focused on comprehensive and sustainable development.
During the visit, Egyptian business leaders met senior Burkinabe officials and ministers responsible for development sectors to explore avenues for economic cooperation.
They also held technical discussions with the chamber of commerce and industry, the national electricity company, grain and crop storage authorities, and other public and private institutions.
The meetings were organized by the Egyptian embassy in Burkina Faso in coordination with the National Office for Major Projects.
MAG Trade & Investment said the initiative aligns with its strategy of building long-term partnerships in the Burkinabe market through joint capacity development, knowledge exchange and deeper economic engagement.
Discussions identified potential cooperation in priority sectors including energy, agriculture and food security, healthcare, digital transformation and information and communications technology, housing, real estate and infrastructure.
The MoU establishes a framework for continued coordination between public and private stakeholders, supporting cross-border cooperation and economic integration among African countries.
