Book on Bangsamoro’s peace journey launched
The book documents 10 years of milestones, lessons, and progress under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB)
MANILA, Philippines (MNTV) – The Joint Normalization Committee (JNC), a peace mechanism that helped push forward the peace process between the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (GPH-MILF) Peace Process, has launched a coffee table book titled “Metamorphosis: A decade’s journey to peace.”
The book documents 10 years of milestones, lessons, and progress under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), reports Manila Times.
In his remarks, Special Assistant to the President, Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., reaffirmed the national government’s support for the Bangsamoro peace process, particularly the continued implementation of the peace agreements and the Normalization Program.
Government JNC Chairman Ariel Hernandez stressed that the book highlights the strong partnership between the two parties in advancing peace in the Bangsamoro.
MILF JNC Chairman Akmad Brahim, who was represented by Aliuddin Haron, emphasized that the book is a testament to the Bangsamoro people’s determination to uplift their socioeconomic well-being and the collective resolve of all stakeholders to help realize this goal.
Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. honored the country’s former presidents for their crucial roles in advancing the peace process.
According to Galvez, the decommissioning of MILF fighters and their reintegration to mainstream society, and the delivery of socioeconomic interventions” remain central to the Philippine government’s peacebuilding efforts.
