Algeria launches four digital platforms to modernize higher education sector
New online systems aim to improve student services, support innovation, and strengthen university management nationwide
ALGIERS, Algeria (MNTV) — Algeria has unveiled four national digital platforms as part of a broader effort to modernize its higher education and research sector, officials said.
The launch, overseen by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamal Badari, took place at the Ministry’s headquarters and marks a significant step in the country’s digital transformation strategy.
The new platforms are designed to enhance university operations, streamline student support services, and strengthen innovation infrastructure. Authorities say the initiatives will improve coordination, accessibility, and efficiency across Algerian universities.
One platform, the University Network for Business Incubators and Entrepreneurship Development Centers, seeks to connect academic incubators and innovation hubs nationwide, promoting startups, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer between universities and industry.
Another initiative, the Digital Registry of University Spin-off Companies, will formally document and monitor university-affiliated enterprises, improving governance, oversight, and long-term sustainability of academic entrepreneurial activities.
The Ministry also introduced a Digital Platform for Psychological Counseling, providing students with secure online access to mental health and well-being services, ensuring timely support and promoting healthier campus environments.
Additionally, a Digital Meal Reservation Platform was launched to modernize campus dining, streamline meal planning, and enhance operational efficiency across university cafeterias.
Officials said the rollout demonstrates Algeria’s commitment to leveraging digital tools to support education reform, promote innovation, and position universities as central drivers of national development and entrepreneurship.
