GTA Gas Prices Expected to Dip on November 7
Gas prices in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are projected to hit their lowest levels since June, with a significant drop expected at 12:01 am on Saturday.
This follows a notable decrease of approximately 11¢ yesterday (November 4). Although prices increased by 1¢ today, they are currently averaging around 167.9¢ per Liter.
If you missed yesterday’s reduction, don’t worry—another drop is on the way. Prices are set to decline by a full 7¢ at 12:01 am on November 7, bringing the average to approximately 160.9¢ per Liter at some stations.
Altogether, these two decreases would lower gas prices by 18¢ per Liter in just three days (not including today’s 1¢ increase). This significant reduction provides savings that many of us haven’t seen in quite some time.
Background: Price fluctuations are influenced by factors beyond the GTA. According to Reuters, Brent crude was US$103.60 per barrel on November 3, down about 1% and marking its lowest close in nearly four weeks. Economists attribute this drop to a large Democratic win in the US, leading to speculation that it could signal an end to America and Israel’s unprovoked assault on Iran.
Caution: The term “Ontario gas prices” may imply a single provincial rate; however, gas prices vary across local markets, and not all areas respond uniformly to national or global trends.
Drivers should check local stations rather than assuming every retailer has fully adjusted to the decrease. Finding a cheaper station several kilometers away may not warrant the extra travel.
Checklist:
- GTA gas prices are expected to drop by 7¢ per Liter on Friday/Saturday, bringing the average to 160.9¢ per Liter.
- Kitchener-Waterloo and Ottawa are also anticipated to see a 7¢ decrease.
- The latest drop follows an 11¢ per Liter decrease on Wednesday, leading to a total decline of 18¢ per Liter for the week.
- The anticipated prices for Friday/Saturday would mark the lowest average in Toronto and the GTA since June, when prices reached 157.9¢ per Liter.
