Israeli attacks killed three Palestinians and wounded 16 others in Gaza over the past 24 hours despite the ceasefire
GAZA CITY, Palestine (MNTV) – Israeli attacks killed three Palestinians and wounded 16 others in Gaza over the past 24 hours, pushing the overall death toll since October 2023 to 72,740, Gaza’s Health Ministry announced Monday.
The ministry said three bodies and 16 wounded people were brought to hospitals across the territory during the period, without specifying how the casualties occurred. Total injuries since October 2023 have reached 172,555.
Medical sources described a series of separate incidents throughout the day. Six people, including a woman and her child, were wounded by Israeli artillery shelling near a mosque in the Tel al-Dahab area of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. Another person was shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers elsewhere in Beit Lahia, while a passerby sustained a gunshot wound from Israeli army fire in Gaza City. Witnesses also reported a powerful explosion rocking eastern Gaza City in the early hours of Monday after Israeli forces carried out a demolition operation, with artillery shelling the surrounding area.
In Khan Younis in southern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles opened machine gun fire toward the city’s eastern and central districts.
Since the ceasefire took effect following two years of what the Health Ministry describes as genocidal war, Israeli attacks have killed 854 people and injured a further 2,453. The conflict has caused destruction affecting an estimated 90 percent of civilian infrastructure across the territory.
