Witkoff denies reports of leaving White House

WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has denied reports claiming he plans to leave his White House role to focus on his business interests.

“This story is 100% fake news and should be immediately retracted,” Witkoff wrote on X. “I am more engaged in the peace process than ever, and I am continuing to proudly serve the President of the United States!”

The report, first published by Middle East Eye, prompted a swift response from the White House, which called the story “totally false” and said the outlet failed to offer it “an adequate opportunity to comment.”

Witkoff has been a key figure in Trump’s foreign policy initiatives, including the recently brokered ceasefire in Gaza and talks with Iran prior to the June US strikes on its nuclear facilities.

Trump has since assigned Witkoff to prioritize efforts aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, with plans to resume negotiations with Iran once progress is made on that front.

Talks to end the Ukraine conflict have stalled in recent weeks, as Trump continues to coordinate with NATO allies to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on Moscow to return to negotiations.
