US Senate report reveals widespread abuse in immigration detention centers
A US Senate investigation has uncovered widespread medical neglect and inhumane conditions at immigration detention centers
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – A US Senate investigation has uncovered widespread medical neglect and inhumane conditions at immigration detention centers, according to a report by Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia.
The report details cases where detainees were denied insulin, left untreated for days, and forced to compete for clean water.
It documents more than 80 credible cases of medical neglect and numerous complaints about inadequate food and sanitation.
One Homeland Security employee told investigators that medical emergencies occur so frequently that “ambulances have to come almost every day.”
Despite repeated denials from top officials, some staff have confirmed these conditions, which have reportedly contributed to at least 20 deaths in ICE custody this year — one of the deadliest on record.
“Americans deserve secure borders, but they also reject abuse and neglect,” Ossoff said.
“Every human being is entitled to dignity and humane treatment.”
