US Muslim rights group reports sharp rise in anti-Muslim discrimination under Trump
Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) documents a significant rise in anti-Muslim discrimination across the United States
SAN FRANCISCO, United States (MNTV) – A new report by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) documents a significant rise in anti-Muslim discrimination across the United States during 2025, attributing the increase to a combination of inflammatory rhetoric from public officials and policies pursued under the Trump administration.
CAIR says the more serious threats have come not from isolated incidents but from elected officials, with statements by representatives including Andy Ogles and Randy Fine amplifying Islamophobia and creating an environment that fosters discrimination.
“We have seen mass arrests, cancellations of visas and temporary protected status and other immigrant benefits based solely on national origin, in the primitive notion that every member of such a group is to blame for the actions of one individual,” said David Tarr, Immigration Rights Attorney at CAIR California.
The organization says these policies have marginalized people deemed ethnically undesirable by politicians.
