Turkish dessert brand Hafiz Mustafa turns London bus into mobile tea room
Istanbul-based confectioner reimagines afternoon tea as part of UK expansion drive
LONDON, United Kingdom (MNTV) — A traditional red double-decker London bus has been transformed into a roving Turkish tea room, offering passengers a taste of Ottoman-era confections as part of a cultural campaign by historic Turkish dessert brand Hafiz Mustafa 1864.
The unique initiative replaced the classic British afternoon tea with Turkish offerings, including freshly brewed tea in tulip-shaped glasses, traditional baklava, and Turkish delight, reported Anadolu Agency.
Guests on board were also served rose water and fresh pistachios in ornate copper dishes, accompanied by live oud music as they toured iconic city landmarks such as Big Ben and Piccadilly Circus.
Staff dressed in custom Hafiz Mustafa uniforms welcomed both Londoners and tourists aboard the bus, which was redesigned to mirror a traditional Turkish tea house.
The event coincided with the opening of Hafiz Mustafa’s new retail outlet in Knightsbridge and a 3,500-square-meter production facility in North London.
Founded in Istanbul in 1864, Hafiz Mustafa is renowned for its heritage recipes and Ottoman-style sweets.
The company has grown steadily in recent years, responding to increasing global interest in Turkish desserts.
Though originally conceived as a one-time promotional campaign, the mobile tea experience received strong interest from the public, and company officials have indicated the possibility of making it a recurring feature.
Hafiz Mustafa is currently constructing a 45,000-square-meter production hub in Istanbul and preparing to launch additional branches on London’s Oxford Street and in Dubai’s Souk Madinat, as part of its international expansion strategy.
