Trump warns US will seize Iran’s nuclear material ‘in a much more unfriendly form’ if talks fail
Trump warned that the United States will retrieve Iran's nuclear material by force if a negotiated deal cannot be reached
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – President Donald Trump warned Friday that the United States will retrieve Iran’s nuclear material by force if a negotiated deal cannot be reached, while ruling out any tolls on the Strait of Hormuz and leaving open the possibility of renewed strikes when the two-week ceasefire expires Wednesday.
“We’ll go in with Iran, and we will take it together, and we will bring it back to the U.S.,” Trump told reporters on the way back to Joint Base Andrews.
“If we don’t do that, we will get it in a different form — a much more unfriendly form.”
Asked whether he would extend the ceasefire or restart military operations if no agreement is reached by Wednesday, when the Pakistan-brokered truce expires, Trump was deliberately ambiguous.
“Maybe I won’t extend it, but the blockade is going to remain. But maybe I won’t extend it, so you have a blockade, and unfortunately, we have to start dropping bombs again,” he said.
On Iran’s public statements suggesting significant differences remain between the two sides, Trump was dismissive.
“They have to say something different because they have people they have to cater to. I’m just saying it like it is,” he said.
Trump also flatly rejected any possibility of Iran imposing transit fees on the Strait of Hormuz — a demand Tehran had raised during the Islamabad talks.
“Nope. No way. There are not going to be tolls,” he said.
