Saudi Arabia’s Social Development Bank delivers $1.73B in financing
Programs empower entrepreneurs, small enterprises, and families under Vision 2030
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Saudi Arabia’s Social Development Bank (SDB) announced that it has provided approximately $1.73 billion in financing during the first three quarters of 2025, benefiting more than 90,000 citizens and enterprises.
The figure reflects growing support for small businesses, self-employed professionals, and families as the Kingdom continues to push forward with its Vision 2030 economic diversification agenda.
The breakdown of financing shows that about $665 million went to self-employed practitioners and productive families, reaching 53,000 beneficiaries, including 14,500 during the third quarter alone.
Small and emerging enterprises received close to $640 million, distributed among 7,300 businesses, with 2,400 of them financed in the most recent quarter.
Social financing programs accounted for another $427 million, benefiting 30,000 citizens, of whom 10,000 received support in the third quarter.
Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi, who also chairs the bank, said the results “demonstrate the effectiveness of the Bank’s strategic directions in empowering individuals and establishments, and providing an attractive labor market for local and global capabilities.”
SDB’s Chief Executive Officer Sultan Al-Hamidi emphasized that these achievements stem from strong backing by Saudi leadership.
He noted that the bank remains committed to serving as a national development enabler through a combination of financing tools and non-financial support, helping entrepreneurs transform their ideas into sustainable projects.
The bank has also been expanding partnerships to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. In December, it launched a financing portfolio in cooperation with Saudi National Bank under the “Ahalina” program.
The fund, valued at around $2.66 million, was established to provide targeted support to startups and emerging ventures, highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts to foster innovation and broaden opportunities for its citizens.
