Pakistan slams Israel at UN over ‘state terrorism’ and Gaza genocide
Pakistan has sharply rebuked Israel at the UNSC, accusing it of state terrorism and long-standing violations of international law
NEW YORK, United States (MNTV) – Pakistan has sharply rebuked Israel at the UN Security Council, accusing it of state terrorism and long-standing violations of international law.
During a debate on the recent Israeli strike in Doha that killed several Hamas officials, Pakistan’s UN envoy Asim Iftikhar Ahmad dismissed remarks by Israel’s ambassador Danny Danon. Danon had likened the attack to the 2011 US Navy SEALs operation in Pakistan that killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, arguing that critics were applying double standards.
“The representative of Israel perhaps did not listen carefully to the Council’s discussion,” Ahmad said. “It is unacceptable — indeed ludicrous — for an aggressor and occupier, a serial violator of the UN Charter and international law, to abuse this chamber and disrespect its sanctity.”
He said Israel “does not heed advice from anyone, even its friends — if any remain,” and accused it of threatening governments, media and humanitarian organizations. “Like all occupiers, despite being the aggressor, it pretends to be the victim. Today, it stands totally exposed,” he added.
Rejecting what he called a “false analogy,” Ahmad said Israel was perpetrating “the worst kind of state terrorism” in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories. He also underscored Pakistan’s record against violent extremism, noting that “the entire world, including our partners, recognizes that Al-Qaeda was largely decimated through Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts, and we remain committed to this global cause.”
