Oman launches ‘Nadeem,’ nation’s first AI-powered career advisor
Flagship Ministry of Labour project aims to transform employment guidance through generative AI and smart management practices
SALALAH, Oman (MNTV) — Oman’s Ministry of Labor has unveiled “Nadeem,” the country’s first AI-powered virtual career advisor, as part of its Smart Management Project to modernize public sector services and enhance employment support.
Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Busaidi, Director of Smart Management at the Ministry, announced the initiative during a recent address, describing artificial intelligence as a driving force reshaping organizational operations.
He said the shift from traditional to AI-driven management is enabling faster decisions, greater agility, and a sharper competitive edge in both public and private sectors.
Al Busaidi described three management models: traditional, digital, and AI-powered smart management.
He noted that smart management surpasses the others by using predictive analytics, automated recommendations, and real-time data to deliver instant, actionable insights.
Developed using generative AI technologies, Nadeem is designed to guide job seekers through their career journey by offering tailored advice, identifying employment challenges, and suggesting solutions.
The system has already been used to better understand the needs of job seekers and employers, enabling the Ministry to design programmes that improve workplace performance and strengthen job matching.
Al Busaidi stressed that adopting smart management requires more than technological upgrades, highlighting the importance of cybersecurity to protect sovereign national data and robust risk management strategies with pre-prepared scenarios to ensure resilience.
He concluded by saying that embracing innovation through AI is now a strategic necessity for Oman to keep pace with rapid global economic and technological changes.
