Israeli strikes in Gaza kill 8, injure 24
Latest drone strikes kill two Palestinians near Khan Younis; earlier attacks hit Gaza City, medical sources say
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) – At least eight Palestinians were killed and 24 injured Wednesday in Israeli attacks in several areas of the Gaza Strip despite an ongoing ceasefire, according to medical sources.
In the latest attack, Bilal al-Samiri was killed and two others, including a girl, were injured when an Israeli drone struck a group of civilians near Al-Matahin Junction north of Khan Younis, medical sources told Anadolu.
Another Israeli drone strike killed Mohammad Abdul Aziz al-Najjar and moderately injured another Palestinian in the Mawasi al-Qarara area northwest of Khan Younis, a medical source at Nasser Hospital told Anadolu.
Al-Najjar, 38, an imam and presenter of religious programs at Quran Radio, was preparing media material on Quran memorization when he was struck.
A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital said a Palestinian woman was killed and her husband was seriously injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting their home on Al-Wehda Street in Gaza City.
Anadolu’s correspondent, citing witnesses, reported that an Israeli helicopter fired at least one missile at their home.
Separately, five Palestinians were killed and 13 others injured in an Israeli strike targeting a taxi towing a passenger trailer in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of southern Gaza City.
Medical sources said the casualties were taken to Al-Shifa and Al-Quds hospitals in Gaza City following the strike.
The sources said several of the injured were in critical condition and were receiving treatment in intensive care units at the two hospitals.
Earlier, seven Palestinians, including three women, were injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting two homes in the Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City and by gunfire targeting homes and tents east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and south of Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelled areas east of the Shujaiya and Zeitoun neighborhoods in Gaza City while Israeli quadcopter drones bombed homes.
In central Gaza, local sources said an Israeli drone dropped a bomb east of the Bureij refugee camp, while military vehicles stationed east of the camp opened fire toward Palestinian homes. No casualties were reported.
Israeli violations of the October 2025 ceasefire agreement have resulted in the deaths of 1,431 Palestinians and injuries to 5,026 others, Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday.
Since Oct. 8, 2023, Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000 others, while around 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been destroyed.
