Israel strikes multiple regions across Lebanon
Air raids hit Beqaa and south as warnings, drone activity and disputed claims accompany continued escalation
BEIRUT, Lebanon (MNTV) — As part of its continued aggression against Lebanon, Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of air attacks across several regions of the country, targeting areas in southern and eastern Lebanon.
The strikes hit the town of al-Manara in the eastern Beqaa Valley as well as locations in the Jezzine district in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese media.
The attacks came after Israel warnings were issued to residents, forcing dozens of families to flee villages amid heightened drone activity overhead.
The occupation military claimed the airstrikes were directed at sites linked to Hezbollah and Hamas.
An Israel army spokesperson earlier announced planned operations against what were described as “military infrastructure” targets in Hammara and Ain el-Tineh in the Beqaa region, along with Kfar Hatta and Annan in southern Lebanon.
Hamas rejected these claims, with a source quoted by Al Jazeera accusing the occupation authorities of manufacturing false justifications to sustain their aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and against Lebanon.
The source said allegations regarding resistance infrastructure inside Lebanon were unfounded and intended to legitimize continued attacks.
After midnight, an airstrike struck a three-story building in the industrial area south of Saida in southern Lebanon. The Ministry of Public Health did not release an official casualty figure, while Lebanese media reported that two workers were injured.
Ain al-Hilweh, located near Sidon, is the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the camp houses around 80,000 people, making it the largest of the country’s 12 refugee camps and part of a total Palestinian refugee population of approximately 250,000 in Lebanon.
Earlier on Monday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that a drone strike targeted a car in the southern village of Braikeh, injuring two people.
The attack followed another Israel strike a day earlier that hit a vehicle in the Ayn al-Mizrab area north of Bint Jbeil, killing two individuals.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Israel occupation forces were expected to withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 2025. However, the occupation has refused to pull out its troops.
The resistance has repeatedly stated it will not disarm while occupation forces remain on Lebanese territory and attacks continue, warning that repeated violations threaten to collapse the already fragile truce.
