Strong performance boosts preparations for upcoming world and Asian championships
DUBAI, UAE (MNTV) — Iraq’s youth Muay Thai national team delivered a standout performance at the UAE International Open Youth Championship, which concluded in Dubai, winning multiple gold and silver medals against strong international competition.
Five Iraqi fighters — Abdullah Osama Hussein, Mahdi Qaed Raji, Reda Qaisar Ali, Ibrahim Mohammed Ali, and Salah Safaa — captured gold medals after displaying skill and determination that underscored Iraq’s growing presence in the sport.
Adding to the team’s success, Karrar Saad Radhi and Mustafa Qutaiba Hussein secured silver medals, further cementing Iraq’s position among the top contenders at the tournament.
The achievement comes at a crucial moment, as the team gears up for two major events: the World Championship in Abu Dhabi next month and the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain in October.
Coaches emphasized that the strong showing in Dubai boosts both morale and international recognition for Iraq’s young athletes.
