Iran’s non-oil trade surpasses $34 billion in four-month period
Petrochemical exports decline slightly amid global challenges, but Iran’s overall non-oil trade value remains steady and resilient
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iran’s non-oil trade reached $34.175 billion during the first four months of the Iranian calendar year, from March 21 to July 21, 2025, showing continued resilience in the country’s export activity despite global economic challenges.
According to official data released this week, Iran exported 61.2 million tons of non-oil goods during the period, marking a slight increase of 0.48% in volume compared to the same timeframe last year. Of the total, 48.8 million tons valued at $16.549 billion were outbound shipments.
Petrochemical products made up a significant share of Iran’s non-oil exports, with 17.4 million tons valued at $6.894 billion shipped abroad.
However, this represented an 8.3% drop in weight and a 10.22% decrease in value from the same period in 2024, indicating downward pressure on the sector due to pricing or demand fluctuations.
Iran’s top export destinations over the four-month span included Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Oman. These markets continue to form the backbone of Iran’s regional trade network.
Officials noted that while petrochemical exports experienced a modest decline, overall trade performance remained stable, reflecting the country’s efforts to diversify its export base and maintain strong trade ties with neighboring countries.
