Iran’s foreign trade hits $54.3B in first half of year, customs chief says
Non-oil exports total nearly $26B with six percent growth in volume compared to 2024
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iran’s foreign trade reached $54.3 billion in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, 2025, according to Foroud Askari, head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) and deputy economy minister.
Askari said Iran exported $25.9 billion worth of non-oil goods between March 21 and September 22, amounting to 74.9 million tons in total shipments. Imports during the same period stood at 18.7 million tons.
He noted that non-oil exports grew six percent by weight compared with the same period last year, reflecting stronger performance in the country’s trade balance.
According to the official, Iranian goods were exported to more than 100 countries during the six-month span, underscoring the country’s broad trade reach despite ongoing economic challenges.
