Iran prepares ‘crushing response’ after Israel–US strikes across multiple cities
Tehran signals imminent retaliation as missile launches detected toward Israel following joint assault
TEHRAN, Iran (MNTV) — Iranian officials have vowed a “crushing response” after coordinated Israeli and United States strikes targeted multiple locations across Iran, with explosions reported in Tehran and several other major cities.
State and semi-official Iranian media said blasts were heard not only in the capital but also in Isfahan, Qom, Karaj and Kermanshah, indicating that the attacks extended beyond a single target zone. Authorities shut down national airspace and reported disruptions to mobile communications as emergency protocols were activated.
Tehran described the assault as an act of aggression and warned that retaliation would be swift. Defense sources indicated that Iranian missile launches were likely within hours, potentially aimed at key Israeli military infrastructure. Officials stressed that Iran would not allow the strikes to go unanswered.
Shortly afterward, the Israeli military said it had identified missiles launched from Iran heading toward Israeli territory. Air raid sirens were activated in multiple areas across the country.
“The public is requested to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command,” the Israeli army said in a statement, adding that the Israeli Air Force was operating to intercept incoming projectiles and strike additional threats “where necessary to remove the threat.”
The military cautioned that its defensive systems were “not hermetic,” urging residents to strictly adhere to civil defense guidance as interception efforts continued.
The escalation follows mounting tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and expanding regional military deployments. Analysts warn that the exchange marks a dangerous turning point, with direct strikes between the longtime adversaries raising the risk of a broader regional conflict.
No official casualty figures have been released by Iranian authorities.
