India, Pakistan military leaders discuss ceasefire in rare phone call
Military chiefs from India and Pakistan hold rare talks amid border tensions
NEW DELHI (MNTV) – The military operations chiefs of India and Pakistan held a phone conversation on Monday, marking a significant engagement amid recent tensions, the Indian army stated.
According to Indian broadcaster CNN-News18, the discussion centered on the ceasefire agreement between the two nations.
The talks occurred after what the Indian army described as the first peaceful night along the border in days, with no reports of explosions or projectile fire overnight.
Despite the dialogue, restrictions between the two countries, including suspended trade and closed borders, remain in place.
While the Indian army promised to disclose details of the talks soon, the Pakistani military’s media unit did not immediately comment, according to Reuters.
