GTA Weather Update: Sunshine & Warm Weather Expected in the Last Week of August
The countdown is on! As the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) heads into the last week of August, weather experts forecast a mix of sunshine, clouds, and a few showers. However, temperatures are expected to remain in summer territory, with highs in the upper 20s.
According to Environment Canada, today (Tuesday) will be mainly cloudy with a high of 25°C, followed by partly cloudy skies overnight and a low of 15°C.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) promises to be the standout summer day of the week. The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 26°C, although the humidex might make it feel closer to 31°C.
If you’ve been waiting for a family outing, a relaxing patio afternoon, or a scenic drive to one of the organic farms north of Toronto before September arrives, Wednesday is a perfect opportunity to bring those plans to life. However, the sunshine will not last the entire week.
Thursday: Expect mostly cloudy skies with a 40% chance of showers, with a high around 26°C. There’s also a 30% chance of showers on Thursday night. If you’re heading to an outdoor event, dress appropriately.
Friday: A mix of sun and clouds is expected, along with a 30% chance of showers and a high around 25°C.
Saturday: Another decent day is forecasted for outdoor plans, featuring a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 25°C.
Sunday: The weather is expected to be cloudy, with a high of 26°C. As August approaches its final weekend, clouds are expected to dominate.
Monday, August 31: The final day of August will likely be cloudy, with another high of around 26°C.
While September is just around the corner, summer is far from over and should last until September 22. There’s still plenty of time to plan some last-minute family activities. Here are two events to consider:Ā
- Muslim Fest: North America’s largest three-day family event designed to engage and entertain attendees with an Islamic art exhibition, training workshops, stage shows, and a variety of international Halal cuisine. The event is scheduled for August 28 to 31, 2026, at Celebration Square, Mississauga.
- Ihsan Gala 2026: This exclusive fundraising event supports Sound Vision, a Canadian nonprofit that has served Muslims around the world for over 30 years, along with its independent media arm, Muslim Network TV (and GTA Muslims Today). The gala will be held on September 13 at 6 pm EDT at the Capitol Banquet Center in Mississauga. If you are familiar with Sound Vision’s bold initiatives and its tireless fight for social justice, and are inspired to help those in need worldwide, this is your opportunity to show that when Muslims unite, anything is possible.
