Gaza death toll rises as Israeli strikes hit civilians, aid lines and shelters
At least 65 killed in a single day, many while waiting for food, as hunger deaths climb past 230 as Israel intensifies attacks and pushes toward Gaza City amid stalled ceasefire talks
GAZA, Palestine (MNTV) — Israeli attacks across Gaza killed at least 65 Palestinians during the past 24 hours with many deaths occurring at aid distribution points, according to medical officials.
Twenty-five of the dead were queuing for food or supplies. In the past 24 hours alone, 185 people seeking aid were injured, bringing the total killed in such incidents since May 27 to 1,859, with more than 13,594 wounded.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said 123 bodies were taken to hospitals in the past day, along with 437 injured. Since the genocide began, at least 61,722 people have been killed and 154,525 wounded.
Strikes have intensified in northern areas, including Beit Hanoon, Beit Lahiya, Jabalia al-Balad, and Jabalia refugee camp. In Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, an airstrike flattened a house, killing 12.
Seven more, including five children and a woman, were killed when Israeli forces bombed tents in Tel al-Hawa. Another strike on tents sheltering displaced families south of Gaza City killed seven, among them children.
Multiple aid distribution sites were bombed. Four were killed near the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza, and four more southeast of Deir al-Balah. In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, Israeli gunfire killed four at another aid point.
Two Palestinians were killed near the Zikim checkpoint in the northwest. Markets were not spared—four people were killed in the crowded Maghribi market on Al-Thalathini Street, and two more near Abbas Junction in Gaza City. Israeli forces also struck Wadi Gaza, killing a child and wounding 11 others.
Civilian homes were targeted. Strikes on several houses and residential apartments in Gaza City killed 13. Nine more died in separate attacks on gatherings in northern Gaza City.
A strike targeted a civilian vehicle in Deir al-Balah, killing two. In Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, five bodies, including those of displaced civilians, were recovered from a tent hit by Israeli fire; seven others died in similar strikes nearby.
Hunger is worsening rapidly. Palestine’s Health Ministry reported at least eight people, including three children, dying of starvation in the past 24 hours, raising the total famine-related deaths to 235, including 106 children.
UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini warned that more than 100 children have died from malnutrition, while over 40,000 have been killed or injured by Israeli attacks.
A Hamas delegation has arrived in Egypt for talks on a ceasefire, even as Israel advances its plan to seize Gaza City, displacing nearly one million Palestinians into the south.
