WASHINGTON (MNTV) — Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with senior Boeing executives at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C., to discuss strengthening strategic cooperation in aviation and expanding investment partnerships between Egypt and the American aerospace company.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.
El-Khatib outlined Egypt’s vision to transform its aviation sector into a key driver of national economic growth and regional connectivity.
He noted that the government seeks to integrate aviation with tourism, trade, and logistics as part of a broader plan to position Egypt as a regional hub for air transport and transcontinental commerce linking Africa, Asia, and Europe.
The minister emphasized that Egypt’s ongoing economic reform program has enhanced investor confidence by creating a transparent and stable environment for sustainable, high-quality investments.
He added that the government continues to attract leading international firms in technology, digital transformation, and advanced infrastructure to further strengthen the country’s development trajectory.
Boeing officials, in turn, commended Egypt’s steady economic progress and institutional resilience, describing the country as a “key strategic partner” in the company’s regional expansion strategy.
They noted that Egypt’s reforms and commitment to modernization have created favorable conditions for deepening industrial and investment collaboration in the aviation and logistics sectors.
According to Boeing representatives, the coming period will see a stronger partnership with the Egyptian government to develop modern air transport systems and expand commercial cargo capabilities.
The initiative aligns with Egypt’s national goal of boosting exports, enhancing connectivity, and strengthening its role as a global trade and logistics hub.
El-Khatib concluded the meeting by highlighting that Egypt’s cooperation with Boeing serves as a model for international partnerships grounded in technology transfer, knowledge exchange, and mutual economic benefit.
He reaffirmed Cairo’s commitment to broadening the scope of collaboration to open new investment channels and increase the competitiveness of Egypt’s economy in high value-added sectors.
