Dubai to build new medical complex under Healthcare City expansion
Project includes LEED Platinum-certified office tower and state-of-the-art medical facility aligned with UAE’s Net Zero Strategy 2050
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (MNTV) — Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) has unveiled plans for expansion project that will include a new medical complex, a LEED Platinum-certified office building, and advanced infrastructure to reinforce Dubai’s position as a regional healthcare and wellness hub.
Khaleej Times reported that the development forms part of Dubai Healthcare City’s (DHCC) Phase 1 masterplan and reflects the emirate’s drive to combine sustainability with world-class healthcare innovation.
The first stage of construction will feature two landmark structures — a purpose-built medical complex and a high-performance, environmentally certified office tower — designed to attract investors and medical institutions from across the region.
Issam Galadari, Chief Executive Officer of DHCA, said the initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050.
“By fostering an ecosystem that integrates innovation, investment, and sustainability, we continue to cement DHCC’s position as the premier healthcare and wellness destination in the Middle East and beyond,” Galadari stated.
The new office building, designed by P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd, will span 13,000 square meters across nine floors and three basement levels.
The facility will include flexible office units, ground-floor retail spaces, and energy-efficient systems meeting the highest global standards in design and environmental performance.
Meanwhile, the medical complex, designed by Dubai-based Design and Architecture Bureau (DAR), will cover 5,800 square meters over five floors.
It will host surgical suites, diagnostic laboratories, outpatient facilities, medical offices, and other healthcare support services. The adaptable layout and smart parking integration are intended to accommodate evolving medical technologies and operational needs.
DHCA’s Chief Operating Officer, Allae Almanini, noted that the new development aims to “deliver infrastructure that supports growth and builds confidence among healthcare providers and investors.”
He added that the project’s focus on accessibility, sustainability, and efficiency would strengthen DHCC’s role as the region’s leading healthcare investment destination.
The wider plan also includes multi-storey parking structures equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, Salik-integrated smart parking, and accessibility features to support the growing number of healthcare professionals and patients visiting the area.
Construction of the new facilities is scheduled to begin in December 2025, with completion expected by November 2027.
