BNP chief Tarique Rahman demands swift result announcement to prevent confusion
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman called Thursday for the immediate release of election results, warning that delays could generate uncertainty
DHAKA (MNTV) – BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman called Thursday for the immediate release of election results, warning that delays could generate uncertainty and undermine public confidence.
Speaking briefly with reporters at his Gulshan office following his vote and tours of multiple polling stations, Rahman pressed the Election Commission to implement measures ensuring voters receive timely information about outcomes.
He stated that the commission must take effective steps so that voters can quickly know the outcome of the votes they cast, cautioning that any delay in publishing the results could create confusion.
Rahman alleged that troubling incidents had been reported from various locations since the day before voting commenced, urging law enforcement to actively intervene to safeguard peaceful participation.
He maintained that if people can vote freely and spontaneously, no conspiracy would succeed, noting his party would acknowledge results from a fairly conducted election.
However, the BNP leader issued a warning that the results would not be accepted if there was any rigging or attempt to create confusion during the election.
Rahman concluded that conducting peaceful and unbiased elections would strengthen Bangladesh’s democratic foundations.
