Ben-Gvir claims entire West Bank belongs to Israel
Far-right Israeli minister threatens Palestinian Authority's dismantling and advocates Palestinian displacement if appointed defense minister after election
JERUSALEM, Palestine (MNTV) — Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has declared that the entire occupied West Bank belongs to Israel and threatened to dismantle the Palestinian Authority, while openly pledging to pursue the displacement of Palestinians if he becomes defense minister.
According to Anadolu Agency, Ben-Gvir made the remarks during an interview with Israel’s Channel 14, rejecting distinctions between Areas A, B and C established under the Oslo framework and asserting Israeli ownership over all three areas.
Under the 1995 Oslo II Accord, Area A was placed under Palestinian administrative and security control, Area B under Palestinian civilian administration with Israeli security involvement, and Area C — roughly 60% of the West Bank — under Israeli control.
Ben-Gvir rejected those distinctions, saying there was no meaningful difference between the three areas and claiming the entire territory for Israel.
The extremist Israeli minister went further by threatening to dismantle the Palestinian Authority and advocating policies intended to encourage Palestinians to leave both the occupied West Bank and Gaza if he were appointed defense minister.
He claimed that 60% of Palestinians wanted to emigrate, an assertion Anadolu noted was contradicted by other reporting, and said he would personally oversee efforts to advance such departures.
Ben-Gvir also advocated loosening restrictions on Israeli soldiers’ use of force, arguing that allowing troops greater latitude to shoot would reduce manpower requirements.
His remarks came during campaigning ahead of Israel’s Oct. 27 Knesset election and amid accelerating Israeli settlement activity and mounting international concern over Palestinian displacement in the occupied West Bank.
The statements represent an explicit rejection by a sitting Israeli cabinet minister of the territorial framework established under the Oslo agreements and place proposals for Palestinian displacement directly within Israel’s election campaign.
