UAE Pavilion concludes Expo 2025 Osaka with record five million visitors
Exhibit themed “Earth to Ether” wins Bronze Award, celebrates innovation, cultural exchange, and youth-led global collaboration
OSAKA, Japan (MNTV) — The United Arab Emirates Pavilion has wrapped up its six-month participation at Expo 2025 Osaka after attracting more than five million visitors both in-person and online, ranking among the most visited international pavilions at the global exhibition.
Since opening on April 13, the UAE Pavilion recorded 4.93 million physical visitors, 113,000 online visitors, and over 17,000 virtual attendees through the Expo’s digital platform — underscoring its strong engagement with audiences in Japan and across the world.
The closing ceremony brought together Pavilion officials, youth ambassadors from both the UAE and Japan, and partners including ADNOC, Pure Health, Space42, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
The event featured speeches, reflections on the Pavilion’s achievements, and a multimedia presentation highlighting its journey and message.
Shihab Ahmed Al Faheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner-General of the Pavilion, said the project “served as a vibrant platform that connected cultures and ideas, fostering meaningful dialogue beyond borders.”
He praised the dedication of the team and the inspiring role of youth ambassadors in shaping the Pavilion’s impact.
The UAE Pavilion, designed around the theme “Earth to Ether,” offered an immersive experience inspired by the date palm — symbolizing resilience and growth.
It showcased the nation’s advances in space exploration, healthcare innovation, and sustainable technologies, while reflecting how the UAE’s cultural heritage informs its future aspirations.
In recognition of its architectural excellence, the Pavilion earned a Bronze Award from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) for Architectural and Landscape Design in the large self-built pavilion category, placing it among the top three at Expo 2025 Osaka.
Throughout its six-month run, the Pavilion hosted cultural performances, innovation forums, and youth programs, welcoming high-level delegations and celebrating UAE National Day on September 19, attended by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The UAE’s participation in Osaka marks another milestone in its long-standing Expo legacy — from its debut at Expo 1970 Osaka to hosting Expo 2020 Dubai — reinforcing its role as a bridge for cultural dialogue and global cooperation.
