Oman showcases culture as guest of honor at Algiers International Fair
Over 60 Omani firms and heritage showcases featured in immersive national pavilion at Algeria’s largest trade event
ALGIERS, Algeria (MNTV) — The Sultanate of Oman is making a prominent mark at the 56th Algiers International Fair, where it is participating as this year’s guest of honor with a rich display that blends cultural heritage and economic dynamism.
Oman’s national pavilion spans nearly 900 square meters and features contributions from over 60 companies across diverse sectors including pharmaceuticals, transport, energy, real estate, fisheries, tourism, food industries, and traditional crafts.
Designed to resemble a traditional Omani village, the space offers visitors an immersive journey through the Sultanate’s history, economy, and innovation.
Mahmoud bin Suleiman Al-Yazeedi, head of Export Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, said Oman’s selection as guest of honor provided an opportunity to curate a multi-dimensional showcase that reflects both the country’s cultural legacy and its modern economic aspirations.
The pavilion includes dedicated sections for government institutions, major corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and craftspeople, as well as a cultural zone inspired by the historic Al-Aqr neighborhood.
This revitalized district, closely tied to the ancient city of Nizwa, is highlighted through exhibits on traditional Omani halwa and heritage architecture.
Al-Yazeedi noted that the pavilion’s structure and exhibits were developed by the “Oman Exports” team, underscoring the Sultanate’s push to enhance its global trade footprint and support local exporters in reaching international markets.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, a traditional Omani music troupe performs daily at the venue, presenting national songs that reflect the depth of Oman’s artistic and folkloric traditions.
Oman’s participation aims to strengthen trade and cultural ties with Algeria and the broader Maghreb region, while also promoting investment opportunities and the country’s export potential on a global stage.
