Women artists from Turkic world unite in Uzbekistan exhibition
Women artists from six Turkic nations unite in Tashkent to celebrate cultural memory, resilience, and shared artistic heritage
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (MNTV) — A special exhibition showcasing works by women artists from across the Turkic world concluded in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent on Friday, capping off a week-long celebration of fine and applied arts under the banner of cultural unity and artistic expression.
The exhibition, titled Women Artists of the Turkic World, was held at the Uzbekistan Gallery of Fine Arts in cooperation with the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
It formed part of the International Festival of Fine and Applied Arts, which ran from April 21 to 25 in the Uzbek capital.
Curated by Professor Kamola Akilova—an acclaimed art historian and director of the Gallery—the exhibition featured works by female artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.
The showcased artworks blended deep cultural symbolism with universal themes, reflecting what organizers described as the “genetic memory” of the Turkic peoples.
Representing Turkmenistan, artists Khatyja Amansakhedova and Guncha Gochmyradova, both members of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, exhibited pieces such as Melody of the Heart, Spring, Bird of Happiness, and Turkmen Folk Tale ‘Yartygulak’.
Charymyrat Yazmyradov, chairman of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, also attended the event.
In addition to the exhibition, women artists took part in a scientific and practical conference, creative displays, and cultural events designed to deepen artistic exchange and promote regional cooperation.
Organizers said the festival serves as a vital platform for preserving shared traditions while fostering contemporary cultural innovation among Turkic nations.
