Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia deepen parliamentary and investment ties
Leaders discuss expanded inter-parliamentary cooperation, joint projects, and cultural exchange to strengthen bilateral partnership
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Uzbek Senate Speaker Tanzila Narbayeva met with Saudi Ambassador Yusuf Al-Utaibi on Monday to review and advance growing strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.
The officials highlighted the intensification of political dialogue in recent years, citing more frequent high-level visits and ongoing exchanges at international and regional summits as key drivers of stronger bilateral ties.
Discussions focused on enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, including strengthening friendship groups, sharing legislative experiences, and organizing reciprocal visits between the two nations’ parliaments.
Both sides also examined progress in trade, economic, and investment collaboration, noting the growth of joint projects and initiatives in sectors such as renewable energy.
Cultural and humanitarian collaboration, healthcare programs, and arrangements facilitating Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages were also emphasized as central to fostering mutual understanding and strengthening people-to-people connections.
Special attention was given to Uzbekistan’s Center of Islamic Civilization, with discussions on expanding research, academic exchange, and international conferences to promote Islamic cultural heritage.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the steady development of Uzbekistan–Saudi Arabia relations across political, economic, and cultural spheres and reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation.
