WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – US President Donald Trump said Democrats will impeach him if they regain control of Congress in the 2026 midterm elections. He made the remarks while addressing Republican lawmakers in Washington.
Trump has issued a stark political warning, asserting that he will be impeached and removed from office if Democrats win the upcoming 2026 midterm elections.
Speaking to Republican members of the House of Representatives at the Kennedy Center in Washington, Trump framed the next congressional race as critical defense against his political opponents.
“You must win the midterms because if we don’t win the midterms, the Democrats will find a reason to impeach me. I will be impeached,” Trump told the gathering.
He expressed a belief that Democrats would inevitably seek his removal from power if they regained a majority, and would then enact policies opposed by a majority of the public.
The President contrasted his administration’s approach with what he described as Democratic ruthlessness. “We are not impeaching them. Why? Because they are more ruthless than us. We should have impeached Joe Biden for 100 different things,” Trump claimed.
