US president: Hamas searching Gaza rubble for bodies of Israeli captives
US President Donald Trump said Hamas is conducting extensive searches in Gaza to recover the bodies of Israeli captives killed during Israeli bombings
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – US President Donald Trump said Hamas is conducting extensive searches in Gaza to recover the bodies of Israeli captives killed during Israeli bombings.
He described the operation as a “gruesome process,” involving the excavation of collapsed buildings and underground tunnels across Gaza’s devastated areas.
According to Trump, Hamas recovery teams are “digging through substantial rubble deposits” and “finding a lot of bodies” that require identification and separation. He noted the particular challenge of recovering remains that “have been in there a long time,” emphasizing the labor-intensive nature of the effort.
The president said these recovery operations are part of the 20-point ceasefire agreement he brokered between Israel and Hamas. While all living hostages have been returned, Trump said locating and repatriating the bodies of the deceased remains an ongoing task.
He also reiterated his demand for Hamas to fully disarm under the ceasefire terms, warning that failure to comply would trigger enforcement measures.
“The truce depends on Hamas dismantling its military capabilities,” Trump said, stressing that full compliance is essential for maintaining the fragile peace.
