Trump boasts of destroying 58 Iranian ships: ‘It’s a lot more fun this way’
Trump claimed American forces have "knocked out" 58 Iranian ships as part of Operation Epic Fury
WASHINGTON, United States (MNTV) – U.S. President Donald Trump claimed American forces have “knocked out” 58 Iranian ships as part of Operation Epic Fury, including 54 vessels in just two days, while quoting an unnamed general who allegedly said destroying Iranian vessels is preferable to capturing them “because it’s more fun doing it this way.”
The remarks came at a Kentucky rally where Trump sought to build support for the largely unpopular war in friendly political territory.
Speaking in his trademark off-the-cuff style, he described rapid U.S. military successes against Iranian vessels attempting to disrupt traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, though his figures have frequently outpaced or loosely aligned with official military reports.
Nationwide polls show a clear majority of Americans oppose the war, with many worried about a prolonged Middle East conflict and its impact on inflation.
CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper separately confirmed that American forces have struck or sunk more than 60 Iranian ships since operations began, including 16 alleged mine-laying vessels destroyed in preemptive strikes near the Strait of Hormuz.
Control of the waterway, where Iran has reportedly begun laying naval mines threatening global oil flows, has become a central front in the expanding conflict.
