Three Pakistanis honored at Moscow environmental awards
EcoWorld-2025 ceremony recognized young Pakistanis for projects in waste management, environmental law, and sustainable gardening
MOSCOW (MNTV) — Three Pakistani students were recognized Saturday for their contributions to environmental preservation at the EcoWorld-2025 International Environmental Awards in Moscow.
Shoaib Muhammad received a laureate of the 3rd Degree and a medal for his project assessing and implementing traditional solid waste management practices, according to ARY News.
Abida Hasan was awarded a diploma for her work promoting environmental law and human rights, while Shahzad Ali earned a diploma for his home gardening project that introduced new plant varieties.
The ceremony was held at the Malachite Hall of the House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, accepted the awards on behalf of the recipients.
Organized by the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences since 2003, the EcoWorld International Environmental Award honors achievements in conservation, ecological security, and sustainable development.
