Tajikistan launches e-gov portal, unveils first Tajik-language AI
New digital platform offers 20+ public services online, while AI tool ‘Bonoor’ bridges tech gap in local language
DUSHANBE, Tajikistan (MNTV) — Tajikistan has taken a major step toward digital modernization with the launch of a new e-government platform and the country’s first artificial intelligence assistant that understands and responds in the Tajik language.
The announcement was made at a press conference at IT-Park Dushanbe by the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan. According to Asia Plus, Agency Director Khurshed Faizullozoda highlighted these initiatives as part of the country’s broader digital transformation efforts.
The centralized online portal—ehukumat.tj—allows citizens and businesses to access government services remotely. Since its beta launch in March 2025, the platform has recorded over 1.5 million users and processed more than 280,000 online service requests.
Currently, the portal offers 20 digital services, including vehicle registration, construction permits, utility payments, and document processing. Authorities say the number will rise to over 50 by year’s end.
More than 45 government institutions are connected to the platform, enabling users to submit applications, track progress, and interact directly with public offices—all online.
Another milestone unveiled at the event was Bonoor, an AI assistant designed specifically for the Tajik language. Officials said global tools like ChatGPT often fail to understand or generate accurate Tajik content, leading to the need for a locally trained model.
During a live demo, Bonoor successfully answered spoken questions in Tajik, showcasing high accuracy and fluency. Authorities praised the tool as a breakthrough for digital inclusion, especially for users with limited exposure to global languages.
The launch of Bonoor and the rollout of ehukumat.tj underscore Tajikistan’s push to improve governance, expand access to public services, and build technological tools that reflect the country’s linguistic and cultural identity.
