Sharjah completes natural gas network in Umm Fannain district
Project spans 38 km and serves over 600 beneficiaries as emirate strengthens energy infrastructure
SHARJAH, UAE (MNTV) — The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has finalized the construction of a comprehensive natural gas distribution network in the Umm Fannain area, marking a milestone in the emirate’s utility infrastructure expansion.
According to SEWA, the project has achieved full implementation, covering a total distance of 38 kilometers and benefiting 603 households and establishments.
The development, which cost AED 4 million, is part of broader efforts to promote clean and continuous energy solutions across the Emirate of Sharjah.
Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of SEWA’s Natural Gas Department, described the project as a major step toward establishing a modern and reliable energy infrastructure.
He emphasized that the integrated network strengthens Sharjah’s long-term development goals and meets the growing demand for sustainable energy alternatives.
Al Balghouni added that natural gas offers a safer and more environmentally friendly substitute for traditional gas cylinders.
Available around the clock, the new service is expected to enhance energy security while reducing household reliance on portable gas containers.
SEWA confirmed that further expansions are under consideration, aiming to increase the number of beneficiaries across other residential and commercial zones in the emirate.
