Saudi Arabia marks World Post Day by showcasing Saudi Post’s expanding role in logistics, innovation, and Vision 2030 transformation
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Saudi Arabia marked World Post Day by emphasizing the growing role of Saudi Post in advancing global logistics, connectivity, and digital transformation as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 agenda.
World Post Day, observed annually on October 9, commemorates the 1874 founding of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Bern, Switzerland, highlighting the crucial contribution of postal services to economic growth, trade, and social development.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) noted that Saudi Arabia was among the early pioneers in the postal sector, becoming the fifth Arab nation to join the UPU in 1927.
Since then, the Kingdom has played a key role in promoting international cooperation in postal and logistics services.
As part of the annual celebration, commemorative stamps, exhibitions, conferences, and cultural events were held across the country to honor postal sector achievements and innovation.
Serving as the national postal operator and logistics enabler, Saudi Post has leveraged the Kingdom’s strategic geographic location to expand its services and enhance its role in the global supply chain.
The institution continues to develop value-added postal, logistics, and geospatial solutions aligned with the national digital transformation strategy.
According to SPA, these initiatives contribute to achieving the Quality of Life Program goals and advancing Vision 2030’s aim to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.
