Saudi Arabia, Tunisia advance industrial cooperation at UNIDO summit
Riyadh and Tunis officials discuss investment, industrial integration, and joint committee preparations during high-level meeting on UNIDO sidelines
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, met with Tunisia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafid, to explore expanded industrial cooperation and deeper economic integration between the two nations.
The discussions were held on the sidelines of the 21st session of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference in Riyadh.
The two ministers reviewed opportunities to strengthen collaboration in the industrial sector, including developing joint initiatives, enhancing investment partnerships, and advancing projects aligned with sustainable development goals. Both sides underscored the value of shared efforts that serve long-term national interests.
Talks also focused on expanding cooperation in industrial city development, ready-made factory models, and expertise exchange, which officials said could support diversified and sustainable industrial growth in both countries.
The meeting highlighted plans to bolster coordination ahead of the upcoming session of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee, set to convene in Riyadh.
Officials praised the strong cooperation between the committee secretariats, describing it as a reflection of the close and expanding relations between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
Senior representatives from both countries, including Al-Badr bin Adel Fouda, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for Industrial Empowerment, attended the meeting.
The discussions formed part of the UNIDO General Conference held in Riyadh from Nov. 23 to 27, underscoring the Kingdom’s emerging influence in shaping global industrial policy.
