Saudi Arabia penalizes dozens of NGOs over regulatory breaches
National Center for Non‑Profit Sector issues hundreds of warnings, revokes licenses, and refers violators, including influencers
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) — The National Center for Non‑Profit Sector (NCNP) has taken action against a number of non‑governmental organizations and individuals for violating sector regulations and bylaws.
According to the Saudi Gazette, the center issued 397 warning notices, dismissed three NGO boards, merged two organizations, annulled one NGO’s election results, revoked two NGO licenses, and also revoked one family fund’s license.
In addition, the NCNP handled 77 reports of fundraising violations, issued 11 formal violation notices, held 8 hearings, and referred 71 entities to competent authorities for further investigation.
The regulatory sweep also saw two social media influencers summoned over alleged promotion of unlicensed organizations, according to the center.
The NCNP emphasized the importance of compliance, calling on both NGOs and individuals to strictly follow the country’s guidelines and procedures.
The center also invited the public to engage via its customer care channels, including hotline 19918, its website (ncnp.gov.sa), and social media, to help strengthen transparency and maximize the sector’s impact.
