Russia says Palestinians face bullets instead of bread at Gaza aid sites, urges action for two-state solution
Polyansky said that since the launch of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” in May, more than 1,800 Palestinians have died
NEW YORK, United States (MNTV) – Russia’s envoy to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, accused the US and Israel of turning Gaza’s humanitarian aid distribution points into sites of bloodshed, saying thousands of Palestinians have been killed while seeking food.
Speaking at a UN Security Council session, Polyansky said that since the launch of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” in May, more than 1,800 Palestinians have died, including over 1,000 near aid distribution centers.
“People desperate for food spend nights near distribution points, and in return, they get bullets,” he said. “This is no humanitarian mission. This is violence disguised as good intentions, aimed at subjugating defenseless civilians.”
The Russian envoy stressed that humanitarian aid should not come at the cost of Palestinian lives and called on the UN Secretariat to uphold its principles. He accused Washington of shielding Israel while ignoring the suffering of ordinary Palestinians.
Polyansky also linked Israel’s ongoing military assault in Gaza to stalled ceasefire efforts, noting that even as reports suggested Hamas had accepted a mediation proposal for a truce and hostage release, bombardments continued.
“We hear about America’s ‘aggressive diplomacy’ for many months, but it yields no results. Our American colleagues must think not only about Israel’s interests but also about the fate of Palestinian civilians,” he said.
Moscow reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire and a political solution centered on the two-state formula, warning that without it, Palestinians will continue to pay the heaviest price while Israel faces growing isolation.
Gaza remains under relentless Israeli bombardment, with international agencies warning of famine, collapsed health services, and a mounting civilian death toll.
