Qatar wraps up Beach Sports Festival with strong community participation
Event features beach volleyball, football, and tennis, blending sport with family entertainment
DOHA, Qatar (MNTV) – The first edition of the Beach Sports Festival concluded in Doha with vibrant celebrations, marking a successful week of competitive matches, cultural showcases, and family-friendly activities along Qatar’s scenic coast.
Held over seven days, the festival attracted more than 200 athletes across multiple age groups who competed in three main tournaments—Beach Volleyball, Beach Football, and Beach Tennis—on specially constructed adjacent sand courts.
In addition to the sports contests, the event featured entertainment zones tailored for families and spectators, enhancing the community experience, reported Qatar’s The Peninsula.
The closing ceremony was attended by sporting officials and a large crowd, where champions were crowned amid musical performances and award presentations.
In the Beach Tennis final, team Padel In secured the top spot, while Al Wakra Padel came in second.
For Beach Volleyball, Aitihad Al Sharta won the championship title, defeating Al Nasr. In Beach Football, Shabab Al Doha emerged as winners, with Ittihad Al Doha finishing as runners-up.
Individual honors were also awarded, including:
- Perfect Team: Tsunami
- Best Scorer: Hanad Abdalnour (Ittihad Al Doha)
- Best Goalkeeper: Ahmed Al Sayad (Shabab Al Doha)
- Best Player of the Tournament: Mubark Yousif Al-Mhiaza (Shabab Al Doha)
Organizers also honored sponsors and supporting institutions for their pivotal role in ensuring the festival’s success.
Commenting on the event, Ahmed Mohammed Al Hassan, Events & Venues Director at Aspire Zone Foundation, said, “This festival wasn’t just about sports—it was a full social and entertainment experience that aligns with our mission of promoting sports as a lifestyle.”
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation and a representative of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, also lauded the festival’s outcome, emphasizing the enthusiastic engagement of Qatari youth and residents.
